New Source Development

As communities continue to grow, many face the need for additional drinking water supplies to support residential, commercial, or industrial demands. With the constant threat of contamination or drought, more and more communities decide that they can never have too much water.

Environmental Partners has extensive experience in the sometimes complex process of new source development for both surface and groundwater supplies. Our new source projects have included fulfilling new source approval permit processes involving safe yield analyses, complex drilling, and groundwater modeling to assess aquifer behavior and characteristics. In several communities we have implemented comprehensive test drilling programs to evaluate water quality and yield attributes at various depths to maximize output and minimize treatment.

In other communities, we have implemented state of the art aquifer and saltwater interface monitoring systems which incorporate real time water quality monitoring at various depths using online instrumentation and SCADA technology. We have also employed state-of-the-art geophysics to locate promising bedrock fracture zones, leading to successful bedrock well development.
