The Captain’s Hill water storage tank, a 2-million-gallon pre-stressed concrete water storage facility needed rehabilitation. The Town of Duxbury hired EP to assess and evaluate the tank, and provide design services for the much needed rehabilitation and improvements. Evaluations identified several defects, including ice damage between the water level and operation range despite repairs and improvements to the tank and site since the original 1972 construction.

EP oversaw necessary maintenance including a comprehensive cleaning, miscellaneous site improvements, and designed vital tank improvements encompassing sealing the tank’s interior (wall slats), coating the tank’s exterior, adding a perimeter fence for safety and security, site clearing, grubbing, and grading, in addition to implementing improvements to ensure Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) Chapter 8 compliance.
