To improve the existing stormwater management along Elm Street and ultimately improve the water quality of stormwater discharge into the Jones River, EP is working with the Town of Kingston with the permitting and design of a series of stormwater infrastructure improvements.
The stormwater BMPs include an infiltration basin, five drywells, an underground infiltration chamber system, and five proprietary hydrodynamic separators. The proposed stormwater system project and BMPs result in no increase in impervious cover, reduce peak flows to the Jones River; improve stormwater quality by removing TSS, phosphorus and nitrogen, and provide greater recharge to groundwater.
This project has funding provided by the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management Coastal Pollutant Remediation grant.
