Tri-Town Water Treatment Plant

August 2022

The time has come! The decades-long planning and design for the construction of a new 12.5MGD state of the art water treatment plant for the Tri-Town Water District (Braintree, Holbrook, and Randolph, MA ) is complete and the project is out to bid.

As the Owner’s Project Manager, EP has been working with the three municipalities and environmental agencies since 2018 to ensure the project meets regulations and runs smoothly for all. Funds for the project include several grants and Massachusetts Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Funding.

EP is excited about this progress and looks forward to next steps in the construction of this facility which will provide clean water to over 80,000 residents including the approximate 40,000 within an Environmental Justice community designation.

Construction of the 12.5 MGD Tri-Town Water Treatment Plant continues to make good progress!

After the Groundbreaking last December, we are 9 months into the construction and the contractor has completed digging the footprints for the finished water pump station, clearwell and treatment process equipment building.

EP Principal and Project Manager, Helen Gordon shares what excites her most about this project:

“This project is the culmination of my 43-year career as a consulting engineer. It’s the biggest and most complex project of my career. I truly enjoy the challenge of partnering with the Tri-Town communities towards their one goal of providing excellent water quality for all their residents. I feel like I am still making a difference after all these years.”
