Cedar Point, a small and beautiful seacoast neighborhood in Scituate, MA experienced excessive inflow and infiltration entering its public sewer system, causing the treatment plant to consistently operate at or near maximum capacity. EP was brought on board and brought an innovative approach to solve the community’s unique challenges allowing the removal of a moratorium on new connections to the system.
Providing a holistic approach, EP designed the replacement of the existing gravity sewer and provided bidding assistance, construction administration, and resident engineering. Public outreach and communications was also a vital piece of this project and EP worked closely with the community and gained immense support from the coastal community and decision makers.
