The Mill Pond WTP is a 5.3 MGD conventional treatment plant that was hydraulically reduced to 4.0 MGD by high levels of sludge accumulation in the sedimentation basin, leading to floc carryover and decreased filter performance. Opportunities to upgrade the plant were limited without reliable alternative sources of water and without a redundant sedimentation basin.
EP designed, permitted, and provided construction phase services for the installation of automatic sludge collectors within limited plant shutdown periods limiting the impact on the community as best as possible.
